Waterproof Cameras

Underwater Cameras for sailors

Do you sometimes leave your deck to discover life under water? A waterproof camera might be a good companion. The choice is yours:

Canon PowerShot D10
A quite bulky version of a waterproof camera, good to use when wearing gloves underwater, but less suitable as an everyday camera. It captures quality pictures using its auto settings. It has a good start up time and comes equipped with an optical stabilizer.  However, it only shoots VGA video, and has no HD capabilities.

Olympus Tough TG-810
It is the flagship waterproof camera from Olympus and has been given GPS capabilities. It stands out in terms of its screen: a 3in, 921k-dot LCD. The entire screen area is used for image composition and display.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX10
Apart from its compact, stylish body, perhaps the most interesting feature of the TX10 is its capacitive touchscreen. The TX10 has only four buttons, including the shutter and on/off switch, so its screen is the primary method of interaction with the camera’s feature set. Movie recording with 1080i

Panasonic Lumix FT3
With a GPS feature, it records the latitude and longitude of your photo location and adds it in to the exif data. It has tough body with rugged design. Full HD movies and ta 3D mode.

Fujifilm Finepix XP10
Cool colours, fun shape and useful 5x optical zoom. Quite cheap with  a large 2.7in monitor and with a web upload feature easy to throw your pictures on facebook and videos on youtube.

Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS
That’s a real heavy duty construction you can go everywhere in any weather. Built in GPS sensor  (Geo-tagging) An interesting option is the macro mode of just 1cm with 5 LED lights around the lens to illuminate the subject in a ring light style.
