Olympics 2012: Sailing Classes

England is host of the Olympic Game 2012. Dorset, on the south coast of England will be the hot spot for sailors. Weymouth and Portland, which is said to provide one of the best natural sailing waters in the UK, are the venues for the fleet and match races, which will start on 29th July.
Not only Olympic sailing classes change over time but also new sailing categories are on the list for 2016. The following classes and categories will take part in the Olympics 2012:
- Dinghy (Classes: Finn, 470, 49er, Laser, Laser Radial)
- Keelboat (Classes: Star, Elliott 6)
- Sailboard (RS:X)
Two new categories and two new classes in the Olympics 2016:
- Multihull (Class: Nacra 17)
- Kiteboarding (IKA)
