Can your Life Jacket Fly?
Is your life jacket a dangerous item, not to bring on an airplane? Or does the baggage policy of the airlines allow your inflatable life vest to fly with you on your next airplane journey?
Most likely yes – your life jacket can fly.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has decided to allow passengers to board planes with personal inflatable life jackets, plus two spare CO2 cylinders. (There were banned in 2006). Even though, TSA allows inflatables with cartridges on board, individual airlines may still prohibit them. Most however don’t. Best you check out with your carrier and google: «baggage policy name of airline».
You will find the TSA policy here.
